Invisible College 2011: Whose Promised Land?

Winter 2011 “Whose Promised Land?”

Monday evenings, Jan 17-Feb 14, McLaughlin Room, JDUC, Queen’s University, 7:00-9:30.

How might Christians approach the issues of Middle East conflict and peace? Plenty of polarized approaches are available but little on listening to the other. This course is a practice-based approach in which we examine vexed and controversial issues with a view, not to taking sides, but to fostering understanding, though presentations, discussion, film, reading and interviews.

All speakers are from Queen’s University. They have been asked to help us in the process of understanding. The course is based on Colin Chapman Whose Promised Land? The Continuing Crisis over Israel and Palestine, (Baker Books, 2004 edition). This book is a Christian, biblical, historical and contemporary approach.Course fee: $35 or students/low or no wage $20. The book may be bought by registered students for $15, half its normal price.
